KEMITRAAN ORANG TUA DENGAN SEKOLAH DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA

Abstract


An increasingly multidisciplinary research on parents involvement at school has been noted. Parental involvements in improving their children education have assisted children in enhancing their competence in elementary level. This study was intended to explore parents involvements and their expectations in a way to established effective teacher-parent relationship that promote students achievement. 30 elementary schools in Kota Metro were involved. The subject of the research comprised of parents, school committee as well as headmasters that were explored to shared their ideas on the involvement and expectations at school activities. This research findings suggests that parent involvements had been associated to the students attitudes which is in line with the school programs. Further forms of parents involvement at school in shaping attitude need to be further explored.

Sejumlah penelitian multidisiplin mengenai peran keterlibatan orang tua di sekolah cenderung meningkat. Keterlibatan orang tua dalam pendidikan di sekolah dapat membantu peserta didik dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa tingkat sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi keterlibatan orang tua di sekolah berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. 30 SD di Kota Metro dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari orang tua yang diwakili oleh komite sekolah beserta kepala sekolah yang digali informasinya untuk memberikan deskripsi mengenai keterlibatan dan harapan orang tua pada kegiatan sekolah. Ini hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan orang tua melalui komite sekolah dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap luaran kompetensi pengetahuan, sikap, dan ketrampilan siswa sebagai hasil dari program sekolah yang efektif. Keberagaman bentuk dan pola keterlibatan orang tua di sekolah dalam membentuk ketiga kompetensi tersebut perlu digali lebih lanjut.
