Becoming a sorority lady during my junior year in college was something that I could've never envisioned for myself. I signed up with in August 2024; going through the informal procedure in order to get my precious bid. Last month, employment I got to experience formal recruitment for the really first time. The procedure also assisted me gain more detailed relationships within my own sorority, as we needed to work together to make sure rush went as efficiently as possible.

What is Informal Recruitment?

Informal recruitment is a procedure that's much calmer than formal recruitment. Usually, it is a COB process (continuous open bidding), meaning the sorority will gradually approve PNMs with bids throughout the timespan of the recruitment.

The procedure generally involves a small sorority occasion where you meet some of the sis and then you may meet a sister individually.

The cool aspect of informal recruitment is that you can select the house you desire and not be forced to see the other houses. But the only thing that might occur is the specific sorority you desire may not provide casual. This depends on the sorority's numbers. If they have sufficient numbers and/or just do not wish to do informal recruitment, you might not have the ability to rush that particular sorority. Also, some sororities do invite-only casual recruitment. It is very important to keep in mind that informal is an excellent option, however it might not be used all of the time.

Which recruitment is much better for me?
