If you don't set up the Enable internet search in Copilot plan, web search is available to customers by default in both Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat, unless you set the Allow the usage of additional optional connected experiences in Office plan to Disabled.

Copilot Chat Is Copilot Safe currently pinned by default in the navigation bar of the Microsoft 365 Copilot application, Groups, and Overview for many users that are qualified for Copilot Chat throughout the internet, mobile, and desktop.

Admins can also alter the pinning settings of Copilot Chat for users in Microsoft Teams through the Groups admin center: Designate an app setup policy with Copilot Conversation in the pinned apps to users with an Entra account.

The Allow web search in Copilot policy also allows you to manage internet look for customers with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
