If you do not configure the Allow web search in Copilot policy, internet search is available to customers by default in both Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat, unless you set the Allow the usage of additional optional connected experiences in Office policy to Disabled.

Admins can also alter the pinning setups of Copilot Chat for customers in Microsoft Teams via the Groups admin center: Designate an app configuration plan with Copilot Conversation in the pinned apps to customers with an Entra account.

To assist improve the high quality of responses, Copilot Conversation can use web search queries sent to the Bing search service to ground responses in the latest details from the internet. Copilot features a CRM, notification center, powerful permission controls, and important applications for messaging, invoicing, file-sharing, agreements, and forms.
