Language shift: local language proficiency of the younger generation in Lampung

Abstract


Banyak penelitian telah dilakukan tentang pergeseran bahasa sebagai produk budaya, tetapi sangat sedikit penelitian tentang kemampuan dan pola bahasa lokal, khususnya di Lampung. Oleh karena itu, kami bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana kemampuan bahasa daerah dan pola bahasa di kalangan generasi muda. Metode deskriptif menganalisis data yang diperoleh dari kuesioner yang diberikan kepada partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi pergeseran bahasa daerah di kalangan generasi muda Lampung. Data tersebut menjelaskan bahwa masih sedikit anak muda yang masih fasih berbahasa daerah dan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia untuk berkomunikasi dalam berbagai ranah. Dengan demikian, generasi muda secara bertahap meninggalkan bahasa daerah sebagai kekayaan budaya Indonesia. Implikasi studi juga dibahas, bersama dengan beberapa rekomendasi untuk studi masa depan.
