Author Guidelines

Jurnal Pendidikan Anak (JPA) is a scientific journal that publishes research results that can contribute to improving the quality of life for early childhood education. The topics of the research that is published in  JPA such as: education, early childhood education, human growth and development, child care and protection, parenting; family well-being, family resilience.

JPA is published 2 (two) times a year, i.e. April and November. The author who will submit the manuscript to JPA must register online through http://jurnal.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/PAUD/login. Manuscripts must be original and have not been published previously in any scientific journal. The statement must be stated in an author’s statement form. The manuscripts have been submitted to JPA and were in the process of review should not be submitted to any media during the review process. Author(s) agree to follow the entire process of manuscript selection in accord with Jurnal Pendidikan Anak procedures, including revising the manuscripts by following the Editors and Reviewers comments in a specified time. Author(s) can’t be pulled back the manuscripts that have been declared “accepted” by the editorial board. Authors(s) who pulled back the accepted manuscript and does not follow the rules will be disqualified for publishing manuscript in Jurnal Pendidikan Anak for 2 consecutive years since the letter issued. JPA uses Turnitin's to prevent any suspected plagiarism in the manuscripts.

 Manuscript File

  1. Manuscripts are written in Bahasa Indonesia or English. If manuscripts are written in English, authors especially whose first language is not English should consult the manuscript with English editing service before submitting it to Jurnal Pendidikan Anak.
  2. Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format.
  3. Manuscripts are prepared in A4 paper, margins on all four sides are 2,5 cm, and a total number of words is 6.000-6.500 Words.
  4. Manuscripts should be typed 1,5 lines spaced and using Arial fonts at 10 points.
  5. Tables, graphs, and figures used should be readable (high quality) and placed after tables, graphs, and figures are referred.
  6. Manuscripts use page numbers and line numbers.
  7. Structure and content of manuscripts in Jurnal Pendidikan Anak refer to Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association: Sixth Edition. Manuscripts content should be arranged as the fol­lowing order: Title, Author’s Name and Institutional Affiliation, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and Suggestion, Acknowledgment (if any), and References.
  8. Manuscripts and supplementary files (author's statement form and author profile) should be submitted elec­tronically through online system: http://jurnal.fkip.unila.ac.id/index.php/PAUD/login. If the author finds difficulty in submitting the manuscript electronically, author can contact administration staff by e-mail (vivirzalinda@gmail.com).

Manuscript Structure and Content

  1. Title. The title must be written in Bahasa Indonesia and English. The title must be brief, clear, specific, and informative which reflect the article content. Each word of the title should be written with capitalized letter.
  2. Author’s Name. The preferred form of an author’s name is first name, middle initial(s), and last name. Author’s name should appear in the order of their contributions. Author’s name is written without titles and degrees.
  3. Author’s Institutional Affiliation. The affiliation identifies the location where the author or authors were when the research was conducted. Name of institution(s) where the research was conducted must be accompanied with full address including institution/department, city, zip code, country, and e-mail.
  4. Abstract. Abstract is a brief and comprehensive summary of the contents of the article. Abstract is written in Bahasa Indonesia and English, in a single paragraph, and 150-200 words. Abstracts contain a clear statement of introduction, objective, methods, results, the significance of the finding, and conclusion, with no references cited. At the end of abstract, write down keywords. Keywords should be written in no more than 5 (five) words or phrases.
  5. Introduction. The introduction should describe a brief background of the research that supported by references. If there are similar aspects of the research that have been studied previously, describe also how the difference of this study with previous research (gap analysis of this research with previous research). The introduction should also include objectives and hypotheses of the study.
  6. Methods. Methods describes in detail the methods used in the study, including: (i) research design, location, and time; (ii) sampling technique; (iii) procedures for data collection; (iv) measurement and assessment of variables; and (v) data analysis.
  7. Results. Results should present the findings during the studyData should be presented in tables, graphs, or figures when feasible. The author should not repeat reading the data already presented in the tables, graphs, or figures. The text should explain or elaborate the tabular data.
  8. Discussion. The discussion should show relevance between the results and the field of investigation and/or hypotheses and supported by references. Results that al­ready described in the results section should not be repeated in the discussion section.
  9. Conclusion and Suggestion. This section describes briefly the conclusions of research results that illustrate the answers to the research objectives. Based on the finding, author should make suggestions for researchers, practitioners, and policy makers in the field of family and consumer science.
  10. Acknowledgment (if any). Acknowledgment should be stated to the person(s) or institution(s) who help the study.
  11. References. Author should use references that are published in the last 10 year and at least 80 percent of the references used are from scientific journals. The authors are also expected to use references from articles already published in the Journal of Family and Consumer Science. Author should not cite a citation and not use anonym reference. Check each reference against the original source (authors name, volume, issue, year, DOI Number). Please use Reference Manager Applications like EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc. Use other published articles in the same journal as models. JPA has to adapt reference APA Style. Examples of references are as follows:

Format Figures and Tables

Number and title of the picture must be written below the image, while the number and title of the table must be written above the table. It is recommended that the tables and graphs are not in the form of picture (image). Try creating tables and graphs in Microsoft Office Excel and Microsoft Office Word. Decimal indicated by a comma and not a point (eg 20,5 cm instead of 20.5 cm); number of thousands / millions are indicated by a dot, not a comma (eg Rp20.500,00 instead of USD20.50); Large numbers can be replaced with the title word (eg 2 million instead of 2.000.000).

Mathematical Model format:

For the convenience in reading the journal, it is recommended to limit the number of mathematical models written in the article, for the case of extensive use of mathematical models, place it in the appendix (appendix). It is recommended to use Microsoft Equation Models for the equations and mathematical symbols. The units of measurement suggested are the metric system (eg, m, m2, liters, and oC). The word percent is expressed by the character %, written without spaces from the preceding number (eg 20,0%).

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

If the article was jointly prepared by more than one author, any authors submitting the manuscript warrants that he/she has been authorized by all co-authors to be agreed on this copyright and license notice (agreement) on their behalf, and agrees to inform his/her co-authors of the terms of this policy. JPA (Jurnal Pendidikan Anak) will not be held liable for anything that may arise due to the author(s) internal dispute. JPA (Jurnal Pendidikan Anak) will only communicate with the corresponding author.

5. Miscellaneous

JPA (Jurnal Pendidikan Anak) will publish the article (or have it published) in the journal if the article’s editorial process is successfully completed. JPA (Jurnal Pendidikan Anak)'s editors may modify the article to a style of punctuation, spelling, capitalization, referencing and usage that deems appropriate. The author acknowledges that the article may be published so that it will be publicly accessible and such access will be free of charge for the readers as mentioned in point 3.

 

Every accepted manuscript should be accompanied by "Copyright Transfer Agreement" prior to the article publication.
