EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE GALLERY WALK DITINJAU DARI PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS

Abstract

Gallery walk is one of type of cooperative learning model which its learning use a media to show the conceptual problem to each other group. This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of gallery walk in terms of students mathematical conceptual understanding. This research used the pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research was all students of eighth grade in Junior High School 2 Metro in academic year of 2015/2016 that were distributed into 8 classes. The samples of this research were students of VII-F and VII-H classes which were chosen by purposive sampling. The result of research showed that the implementation of cooperative learning model of gallery walk wasnt effective in terms of students mathematical conceptual understanding.

Gallery walk merupakan salah satu tipe model pembelajaran kooperatif yang pembelajarannya menggunakan media dinding untuk menunjukkan konsep dari masalah kepada kelompok lainnya. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kooperatif tipe gallery walk ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah the pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP 2 Metro tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang terdistribusi dalam delapan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa pada kelas VIII-F dan VIII-H yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe gallery walk tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.
