PENGARUH MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA

Abstract


This research aimed to find out the influence of problem based learning model towards students representative mathematical ability. This research design was pretestposttest control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade eight of Junior High School 1 Gisting in academic year of 2015/2016 which were distributed into seven classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII 1 and VIII 2 class who were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The data of this research were obtained by representative mathematical ability test and it was analyzed by Wilcoxon Rank-Sum test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was concluded that problem based learning model did not influence towards students representative mathematical ability.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretestposttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Gisting tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang terdistribusi dalam tujuh kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII 1 dan VIII 2yang diambil dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Rank-Sum. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa model problem based learning tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.
