Correlation Study between Teacher-Child Relationships and Social Skills for 5-6 Years Old

Abstract


One aspect that can affect social skills is the teacher-child relationship. This study aims to determine the teacher-child relationship with the social skills for 5-6 years old. This type of research uses a correlational method. The research sample was 50 children. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Findings of this study show that there is a relationship between teacher-child relationships and children’s social skills. The higher the relationship between teacher and child, which is marked by closeness, the better the social skills displayed by children at school. The lower the teacher-child relationship, which is characterized by conflict and dependence, the more negative behavior appears in social skills at school
