EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DITINJAU DARI KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS

Abstract


The purpose of this research was to know the effectiveness of problem based learning model viewed by students mathematical problem solving skill. This research population was all students of grade 7th of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Cermin in academic year of 2014/2015 that was distributed into eight classes, then it was taken two classes as samples by purposive random sampling technique. This research data were obtained by test mathematical problem solving skill. Based on the result of research, it could be concluded that problem based learning model was effective viewed by students mathematical problem solving skill and it was more effective than conventional learning.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Padang Cermin tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdiri dari delapan kelas, kemudian diambil dua kelas sebagai sampel melalui teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model problem based learning efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dan lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.
