Efektivitas Model Pembelajaran Project Based Learning STEAM Berbantuan Geogebra Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa

Abstract


Indonesian’s student have the low ability of critical thinking make encourages the development of learning to design new learning model strategies that can improve student’s thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PjBL STEAM with the assistance of Geogebra on student’s critical thinking skills. The research design is Quasi Experimental. The research subjects were class VIII students in Institut Indonesia Junior High School Semarang there are 25 students in experimental class and 25 students in control class. Research data were taken through written tests (pre test and post test) and student observation sheets. Data on critical thinking skills test results were analyzed based on FRISCO indicators. The research results show that the Geogebra-assisted PjBL STEAM is effective. This can be seen from the difference result in two classes, get achieving KKM scores, and there is an effect of activeness on student’s critical thinking abilities. It is important to apply the PjBL STEAM model because it has beneficial effects, including teaching children to think critically, helping to remove blocks of ideas, focusing on processes that lead to innovation.

Abstrak

Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis di Indonesia mendorong perkembangan pembelajaran sebagaimana merancang strategi pembelajaran dimana mampu meningkatkan kecakapan berpikir siswa. Maksud penelitian ini untuk melihat keefektifan pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis STEAM berbantuan Geogebra terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Desain penelitian memakai Quasi Experimental. Subjek penelitian meliputi siswa kelas VIII SMP Institut Indonesia Semarang sebanyak 25 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 25 siswa kelas kontrol. Pengambilan data penelitian melalui tes tertulis (pre test dan post test) dan lembar observasi siswa. Data hasil tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dianalisis bersandarkan indikator FRISCO yaitu Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarify, Overview. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran PjBL STEAM berbantuan Geogebra efektif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Dilihat melalui perbedaan nilai rata-rata pre test dan post test kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dengan model pembelajaran PjBL STEAM berbantuan Geogebra mencapai nilai KKM, dan terdapat pengaruh keaktifan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Kesimpulannya strategi pembelajaran PjBL STEAM penting diterapkan dalam proses belajar mengajar karena pembelajaran PjBL STEAM memiliki dampak manfaat, diantaranya mengajarkan anak berpikir kritis, membantu menghilangkan penghambat ide-ide, fokus terhadap proses yang mengarah pada inovasi.
