PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DISCOVERY TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA

Abstract


This research aimed to examine the influence of discovery learning towards a student’s mathematical communication skill enhancement. The population of this research was all the eighth-grade students of SMP Al Azhar 3 Bandarlampung in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year as many as 251 students that were distributed into seven classes. The samples of this research were students of class VIII-B consist of 31 students and VIII-C consists of 32 students who were chosen by cluster random sampling technique. This research used the pretest-posttest control group design. The research data were obtained through a test of mathematical communication skills. The data analysis of this research used the t-test. The result of this research shows that the enhancement of mathematical communication skills of the student who follow discovery learning was higher than the enhancement of mathematical communication skills of students who follow conventional learning. Based on the result and working through of result, the conclusion of this research is discovery learning affects the student’s mathematical communication skill’s enhancement.
