The effect of problem based learning models that utilizing edutainment on students’ mathematical communication skills
Abstract
This research aimed to find out the effect of problem based learning models that utilizing edutainment on students’ mathematical communication skills. The population of this research was all students of grades X IPA of SMA Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2018/2019. The sample of this research were students of class X IPA 1 as many as 31 students and X IPA 2 as many as 32 students, that were choosen by cluster random sampling technique. This reseach used pretest-posttest control group design. Data analized using Mann-Whitney U test with 𝜶 = 0,05. Hypothesis test results showed that gain of students’ mathematical communication skills in the problem based learning class that utilizing edutainment was higher than students in the problem based learning class. Based on this analysis it was concluded that the problem based learning model that utilizing edutainment affects the mathematical communication skills of students.
