Pengaruh Problem Based Learning Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis dan Self Confidence Siswa
Abstract
This research aimed to determine the influence of problem based learning towards students mathematical communication ability and self confidence. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Sendang Agung in academic year of 2017/2018 with total 139 students and that was distributed into four classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII-B and VIII-C class that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The design which used was posttest only control grup design. The data of this research were obtained by mathematical communication ability test and self confidence scale. Analysis data of the research used Mann Whitney U test. Based on the result of the research and the data analysis, it can be concluded that there is an influence of problem based learning to mathematical communication ability and students self confidence.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh problem based learning terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self confidence siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sendang Agung tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 dengan jumlah 139 siswa dan terdistribusi ke dalam empat kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-B dan VIII-C yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah posttest only control grup design. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan skala self confidence. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa problem based learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self confidence siswa.
