PENGARUH KEMAMPUAN MEMBANGUN MODE REPRESENTASI TERHADAP PEMECAHAN MASALAH FISIKA
Abstract
The previous study at State Junior High School 8 in Bandar Lampung showed that many students perceived physics as a difficult subject because it employed many mathematical formulas and developing concept. Therefore, the objective of this research was to find out the influence of ability to generate representation mode to physics problem solving by applying guided inquiry with multiple representations learning approach. Data of ability in generating representation mode were collected with 5 problems given to students and data of problem solving were collected by giving 7 problems to students in the end of learning process. The results showed that there was a positive, linear and significant influence between generating representation mode ability and problem solving in physics subject, with contribution of 85.3% as the value of determination coefficient (R Square).
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pendahuluan di SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung, masih banyak siswa yang menganggap fisika merupakan mata pelajaran yang sulit karena banyak menggunakan rumus matematis dan banyak pengembangan konsepnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan membangun mode representasi terhadap pemecahan masalah fisika melalui model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dengan pendekatan multirepresentasi. Data kemampuan membangun mode representasi diperoleh dengan 5 butir soal yang diberikan kepada siswa dan data pemecahan masalah diperoleh melalui 7 butir soal yang diberikan pada akhir pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh linear yang positif dan signifikan antara kemampuan membangun mode representasi terhadap pemecahan masalah fisika, dengan kontribusi sebesar 85,3% yang merupakan nilai koefisien determinasi (R Square).
