ALIH KODE DAN CAMPUR KODE DI LINGKUNGAN SMA NEGERI 1 PAGELARAN

Abstract

This study was aimed at describing forms and causes of code-switching and code-mixing in the environment of SMAN I Pagelaran. It was conducted through a qualitative descriptive design. Sources of data were the teachers, staff, and students of SMAN I Pagelaran in the forms of code-switching and code-mixing occurrences. The results of the study show that code-switching occurs in the forms of internal and external code-switching. The factors causing the occurrences of code-switching include: the benefit obtained by the speaker from his/her actions, the interlocutor switching his/her code because of the presence of the third person, changes of situation from formal to informal, changes of conversational topics. The forms of code-mixing occur in the forms of words, abbreviation/acronyms, phrases, baster, and clauses. Factors causing the code-mixing occurrences are background of the speakers attitude and linguistic preferences.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan faktor penyebab terjadinya alih kode-campur kode di lingkungan SMAN I Pagelaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber datanya adalah guru, pegawai, dan siswa dilingkungan SMAN I Pagelaran, sedangkan datanya berupa tuturan yang berwujud alih kode dan campur kode. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peristiwa alih kode terjadi dalam bentuk alih kode intern dan ekstern Faktor penyebab alih kode adalah penutur memperolah keuntungan dari tindakannya, mitra tutur terlebih dahulu beralih kode, berubahnya situasi karenakehadiran orang ketiga, perubahan situasi formal ke informal, dan berubahnya topik pembicaraan. Bentuk-bentuk campur kode terjadi dalam bentuk kata, singkatan/akronim, frasa, baster, dan klausa. Faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya campur kode adalah latar belakang sikap penutur dan kebahasaan.
