Pengembangan Buku Ajar IPS Berbasis Metode Inkuiri untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa

Abstract

The aim of this research is to produce the textbook of social studies based on inquiry method at the fourth grade of elementary school and to improve the students learning outcomes. This research used Research and Development (R&D) method. In collecting the data the researcher used questionnaires and multiple choice test. Population in this research is 121 fourth grade of elementary school students in Baharudians Cluster and 53 students taken as samples by using multi stage random sampling. Furthermore, 3 students were taken as personal testing subject, 9 students as small group testing subject, 40 students as field testing subject. To determine effectiveness is using t test and N-Gain. Result of this research shows that 1) the developed social study textbook based on inquiry is proper; 2) The developed social study textbook based on inquiry method effectively can improve studentss learning outcome.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan produk buku ajar IPS berbasis inkuiri dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SD. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research & Development (R&D). Alat pengumpul data menggunakan lembar angket dan tes pilihan ganda. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD di Gugus Baharudin sebanyak 121 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampel acak bertingkat dengan jumlah 53 orang. Selanjutnya ditetapkan 3 orang subjek uji perorangan, 9 orang ssubjek kelompok kecil dan 40 orang uji lapangan. Untuk menentukan efektivitas digunakan rumus Uji t dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) buku ajar berbasis inkuiri yang dikembangkan layak digunakan; 2) buku ajar IPS berbasis inkuiri yang dikembangkan terbukti secara efektif dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.
