Abstract


This study was aimed increased independents study and understanding the concept of material biodiversity for students biology education, FKIP Lampung University with applied the model of learning Group Investigation. This research is implementation of lesson study which is doing by two cycle. There are three steps of each cycle are plan, do, and see. Data resource from student by theirself and student assesment. The technique of collecting data is used for observation and documentation. The technique of data analysis is use descriptive comparative analysis with compared the results open lesson. The result of implementation lesson study showed increasing students study independence and comprehension. It has shown with increasing presentase independence study at open lesson I and open lesson II, it consist of work team 80% to 90%, discussion with member of group 88% to 96%, asking to lecturer is doing the task 32% to 20% and enthusiasm respond lecturers question at discussion and presentation 20% to 28%, and understanding of this concept get increased from 73,3 to 76,6 in open lesson activity for first and second.
