Dimensi Sosial Pemberitaan Daring Pembullyan di Pondok Pesantren: Analisis Wacana Kritis Van Dijk

Abstract


The phenomenon of bullying in Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) has attracted public attention, especially when such cases are exposed through online news. Online media plays a significant role in framing social issues, including bullying that occurs in Islamic boarding schools, which are supposed to be places of moral education based on religion. This research aims to analyze online news coverage of bullying in Islamic boarding schools using the Critical Discourse Analysis approach developed by Teun A. Van Dijk. The focus of this research is on the social context dimension, which examines the power relations and access underlying the discourse of bullying. Through this analysis, the study seeks to reveal how the discourse of bullying in Islamic boarding schools is constructed by online media and its impact on public perception. The expected outcomes of this research are to provide an in-depth understanding of the construction of the bullying discourse in Islamic boarding schools and how this discourse reflects and influences power relations in society. The relevance of this research in the current social and media context lies in the importance of understanding how the media shapes narratives about sensitive issues, which can affect the actions and attitudes of society toward bullying in educational environments.
