Analisis suprasegmental pengucapan kalimat interogatif dalam Bahasa Mesir
Abstract
This study aims to identify the pronunciation of interrogative sentences in Egyptian, focusing on suprasegmental aspects such as frequency, duration, and voice intensity between native and non-native speakers. This study used an experimental method with an instrumental approach to analyze voice data using Praat software. The research sample consisted of two females and two adult males, a native Egyptian speaker and a non-native speaker (Indonesian) respectively. The analysis showed significant duration, frequency, and voice intensity differences between native and non-native speakers. Native Egyptian speakers tend to utter interrogative sentences with shorter duration, higher frequency, and stronger intensity than non-native Egyptian speakers. This difference shows the important role of acoustic factors in influencing the way sentences are pronounced, as well as reflecting cultural differences and the existence of distinctive linguistic patterns among native and non-native speakers. This research contributes to the development of phonology and acoustics studies and enriches the understanding of communication dynamics in the Egyptian cultural context.
