This study focuses on the values of character education in J. S. Khairen's novel The Best Gift. The purpose of this study is to describe the values of character education in the novel The Best Gift by J. S. Khairen and are embodied in Indonesian language learning in class XII high school. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using data collection and analysis techniques in the form of text analysis. The results of this study present the values of educational character in the novel The Best Gift by J. S. Khairen. The findings in the novel The Best Gift by J.S.Khairen are 15 indicators of character education values, religious values, honest values, tolerance values, discipline values, hard work values, creative values, independent values, recreational values, curiosity values, respect values. achievement, friendly or communicative values, peace-loving values, environmental care values, social care values, and responsibility values. The results of research on educational character values in the novel The Best Gift can be designed in the form of a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) in Indonesian language learning in SMA in class XII even semester with KD 3.9 Analyzing the content and language of novels and KD 4.9 Designing novels and novels by paying attention content and language both orally and in writing.
